12 and Under Tennis
Is your young player interested in playing tennis or wants to continue to play? Our programs are for the eager young player whether they have dreams of holding that trophy on center court of a grand slam or make some new friends. Our experienced staff is excited to work with your little star. We use all forms of low compression balls to ensure a a fun, challenging, and social experience. At ETC we believe every player should be able to dream big and we are there to help them achieve their goals. ETC is also home to several 10 and Under tournaments each year. As part of the United States Tennis Association’s Youth Progression system, we have helped players from all over the Midwest progress from level to level as they continue to learn to play the game, have fun and reach new highs!
Red Ball – Ages 4-7
Teensy Tennis– For the beginner player 4-5 years old of age. Children will learn basic skills of movement,
catching, throwing, and hitting. Time will also be spent with basic stroke production. Foam and red balls are used.
Little Stars– For the beginner player 5-7 years of age. Juniors will continue to develop basic skills, movement, catching, throwing, and hitting. Basic fundamentals with an emphasis on ball striking and tracking skills will be emphasized. Red balls are used.

Orange Ball – Ages 7-9
Bright Stars– For the beginner to intermediate 7-9 years of age. Class will be structured proper progressions of the basic tennis fundamentals with an emphasis on ball skills, baseline rallying and serve.
Jr Stars– For the intermediate player 7-9 years of age. Pro Staff approval required.
Players will continue to learn key technical skills and fundamentals. They will also work on baseline rallying, serve and return, volleys and overheads. Match play will be included on Sundays. Players will learn to be reactive to opponents’ shots and keep score. Players are encouraged to play USTA Youth Progression Tournaments.

Green and Yellow Ball-Ages 9 – 12
Champs- For the 12 and under player ready for Green Ball . Pro staff approval required.
Players will continue to develop a key technical foundation, while introducing tactical, physical, and psychological skills for competition. Sunday Match Play is included. Players typically participate in USTA Youth Progression and Entry Level Tournaments. Private lessons are suggested to supplement skills learned in class.
Jr Select – For the advanced 12 and under player.
Players are ready to train with yellow balls. Classes will focus on refining technique, grips, and footwork. Tournaments are expected to be played. Private lessons are suggested to supplement skills learned in class.
